Hi Samantha,

Thanks for your question.

As a Registry we have invested heavily, arguably one of the maximum amongst registries, in building end user awareness. In the long run, more than anything else, it is development and usage within an extension that will lead to it giving good returns on its domains for investors.

We have conducted more than 150 hackathons and exhibited tech conferences for .TECH, journalism conference for .PRESS, retail conferences for .STORE, etc. The more end users know about our extensions, the more likely they are going to buy one to use for their business or themselves. This is what has enabled investors to sell to end users. We promote businesses using our extensions through initiatives like the Startup League, helping them gain access to investors, media and business partnerships. If a startup on our TLDs becomes the next unicorn, all those holding assets on that specific TLD will benefit. Thus, we invest a lot of resources in engaging with startups.

We also make sure all major aftermarket platforms support our TLDs. As mentioned in the example in the article, there are at least 26 such sales made by 3rd parties on platforms like SEDO and Uniregistry.

We also have an active anti-abuse team that constantly keeps a check on how our TLDs are being used and thus we are able to maintain a very low spam rate. This keeps our TLDs ‘clean’; which ensures that our extensions remain trustworthy and thus, valuable in the long run.

As far as pricing is concerned, most registries, including Radix, are flexible when it comes to working with investors through special promos and campaigns. However, it’s the generic low pricing for a TLD that invites unchecked registrations, leading to a pool of abusive users.

If you have any suggestions in terms of how we can use data, we would be happy to connect with you separately and take the discussion forward! :)
